Retro Technology Trend - My Thought

Recently there has been a huge trend of using older technology. And I think it’s an interesting trend. At surface level it’s simple, you are using older technology. But I believe it’s also about enjoying a time where technology was just really good at the one thing it does. Older game system only played games, iPod only plays music, film camera only take pictures. And AI is definitely a huge factor of it. When companies are shoving AI down our throat and forcing AI into our most used devices it’s hard not to hate it.

Don’t get me wrong, I actually believe AI will be a great tool and it shouldn’t be something we are afraid of.

But there is no denying that it’s causing a huge shift for people to look back at older technology, and older things in general. I believe there is a sense of nostalgia as well.

But, honestly, I am not sure how to feel about that. I am with the trend, I am enjoying older game boys, I enjoy retro cameras, and older note taking systems.

But, when we are trying to live in that time and almost trying to go back to that time, I dont think thats ideal. After all, we can do that all we want but the world moves forward. So while I am enjoying this new trend, I am still thinking ahead and moving forward.
