Staying Ahead While Enjoying Past Technologies
Part of growing up is to stop staying in the past. However, with technology moving so fast, it's hard not to slow down and think about older technologies and the "good old times." But, where is the line? What do we keep in the past, and what do we bring to the present? What do we resist, and what do we accept?
This can be seen as a hard line to draw, but it's important to draw that line. Let's look at the two extremes: there are people who heavily rely on new technology, and then some people who refuse to adopt new technology. As with all things in life, I don’t think staying on one extreme is actually good for you. We should be ready to embrace new technologies, but not at our own expense. One example I will use is AI. I am all for AI, and I am ready and have embraced it as well. I use AI to simplify my workflows, and I use it to improve my life. However, I am not sure if I am ready for an agentic OS, as Microsoft is pushing. Navigating through this is a challenge, and throughout history, I believe this is something we have always struggled with.
Technology is growing every day, and it's scary to think about how fast it's moving, but if we resist it and refuse to grow and adapt, it won’t benefit you either.
